Nature is in crisis, and at Flagship we want to help protect plants and wildlife in your community for you and for future generations. 15% of all UK wildlife species are threatened with extinction and we’ve lost 97% of British wildflower meadow in the last century. We want to do our best to help flowers thrive again and encourage more wildlife, like bees, birds, and butterflies.
We’ve been gradually rolling out a more nature friendly grounds maintenance schedule that manages some areas of grass less intensively, and some spaces are allowed to grow into meadow areas over spring and summer. We’ve also being carrying out different projects to improve our green spaces for people and nature.
By making small changes and managing our green spaces differently, we can help create areas which provide habitat for wildlife, and improve access to nature, and the mental and physical wellbeing benefits that brings, in our communities.
We’d love to hear your thoughts about nature and the green spaces near you. And if you have any great ideas of how we can help plants on wildlife on our land, please let us know!
